Concert-goer Sings Park's Praises

If you didn't see Maureen Neville's  letter to the editor about her experience at the Callicoon Creek Park concert on July 7th, here ya' go:

Summer in our small corner of the world seems to go by much too quickly. In my effort to savor these glorious summer days, I attended one of the Under the Moon concerts in Callicoon last Saturday night. Despite the threat of ominous weather, an appreciative and enthusiastic crowd turned out. Families and friends sat on their blankets and chairs on the Callicoon Creek Park lawn. Picnic tables were covered in vintage tablecloths with vases of flowers, and candles were lit as darkness fell. I spotted one little girl dancing in her pajamas, all ready to roll into bed when the night wore down. It was a true feeling of community.

Two local bands, Hoy Polloy and Little Sparrow, shared the Park stage for the sultry summer evening. Both bands featured incredibly talented musicians and the audience was treated to some fine harmonies. There was a bit of magic in the air Saturday night that I can’t seem to capture in words. Maybe you had to be there.

Catch the next concert in this series on Saturday, July 21, featuring Elizabeth Rose and Brewster Smith plus The Raddyos. Come out and enjoy some great music “Under The Moon” in Callicoon.
